国产剧麻豆剧 Wellness Center Honored by San Diego County for COVID-19 Response Efforts

国产剧麻豆剧鈥檚 Wellness Center was recently recognized by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors for both their COVID-19 response and the high level of care provided to students and the community prior to the pandemic.

国产剧麻豆剧 is the only local university that has been processing COVID-19 tests in their on-campus laboratory which allows for test results in as little as 24 hours. The Wellness Center has also been designated as a vaccination site allowing them to administer COVID-19 vaccines to students, faculty, staff, and the broader San Diego community. To date, they have administered 2,600 vaccinations and booster doses.

The County Supervisors also recognized the Wellness Center鈥檚 pre-pandemic collaborations through the Community Health Promotion Clinic in City Heights, the active flu shot partnership with the National City Fire Department, and the San Diego Street Medicine Alliance.

 


Proclamation Honoring 国产剧麻豆剧 Wellness Center

WHEREAS, the Wellness Center at 国产剧麻豆剧 (国产剧麻豆剧) was established in 1997 to provide confidential primary medical care, immunizations, counseling services, nutritional consultation, and access to telemedicine for 2,700 undergraduate students annually; and

WHEREAS, they have maintained partnerships in the San Diego community through 国产剧麻豆剧鈥檚 Community Health Promotion Clinic in City Heights, active flu shot partnership with the National City Fire Department, and the San Diego Street Medicine Alliance, among many others; and

WHEREAS, the University quickly established a COVID-19 task force to manage the many challenges brought on by the pandemic, strengthened existing campus relationships and built new partnerships with faculty experts in 国产剧麻豆剧鈥檚 School of Nursing, Department of Biology, and communications staff; and

WHEREAS, with FDA approval for COVID-19 vaccinations, 国产剧麻豆剧 Wellness Center pursued designation as a vaccination site to administer COVID-19 vaccines to students, faculty, staff, and the broader San Diego community partnering with Champions for Health for both vaccine administration training and vaccination events over the summer and fall of 2021. To date, having administered  2,600 doses of COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters; and

WHEREAS, the medical staff within the Wellness Center has grown from a team of four to also include; eight registered nurses, ten nursing student externs in their final year of 国产剧麻豆剧鈥檚 BSN program, data and compliance managers, a testing director, and a registered dietician; and

WHEREAS, many of these changes were brought on by the challenges of COVID-19, 国产剧麻豆剧 is continuing to prepare for expanded clinical opportunities within 国产剧麻豆剧 Wellness for both undergraduate and graduate academic programs seeking to expand services for undergraduates and offer services to graduate and adult students moving into the future; and

WHEREAS, the County of San Diego is committed to recognizing and honoring those institutions that are dedicated to the best ideals of public service and 国产剧麻豆剧 Wellness Center is one such worthy institution; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT PROCLAIMED, by Chair Fletcher and all the members of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors that they commend 国产剧麻豆剧鈥檚 Wellness Center for its outstanding commitment to the safety, health, and wellbeing of area residents and hereby declare the 22nd day of April to be 鈥淧OINT LOMA NAZARENE WELLNESS CENTER DAY鈥 throughout San Diego County.
