The Beauty For Ashes Scholarship program was established to support the educational and vocational aspirations of survivors of human trafficking as they pursue flourishing and economic independence. The Beauty for Ashes Scholarship is made for:
- Survivors of human trafficking who are currently residents of San Diego, CA
- Those Seeking FIRST Bachelor’s Degree (in-person, hybrid, or online)
- With Existing number of transferable units from an educational institution outside of ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç (numbers required may vary)
- Who have a 2.8 – 2.9 overall college GPA
- Who are accepted at ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç

SCHEDULE INITIAL PHONE CALL
The Program Director of the Beauty for Ashes Scholarship Fund, will reach out to you to schedule a phone call. You will discuss your vocational goals and determine if you meet the criteria for the scholarship. If you do not currently meet the following criteria but would like to apply in the future, our team will work with you to create a plan.

Next you will be connected with a dedicated Admissions Counselor who will guide you through ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç’s application process.
APPLY FOR THE BEAUTY FOR ASHES SCHOLARSHIP
Upon receiving an acceptance letter to ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç, you will work with the Beauty for Ashes Program Director to gather all necessary documents for the Beauty for Ashes Scholarship application process. Applications open in the spring.
We respect the privacy of your situation but do require a written referral from an approved social service agency, advocate, or law enforcement or government official; a T-visa; or other official documentation to confirm experience of trafficking. You own your story. You will never be asked or required to share your story as a condition of the scholarship.

If I don’t meet the criteria, can I still be considered for the scholarship?
Yes, if you don’t initially meet all the criteria, you can create a plan with the Beauty for Ashes Program Director to fulfill the requirements before applying for the scholarship.
What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarship covers the remaining tuition costs after all federal and state financial aid has been applied. When funds are available, accepted scholars may request, based on their needs, additional funds to cover expenses beyond tuition.
What is the difference between the Accelerated Undergraduate Program and the Traditional Undergraduate program?
The Traditional Undergraduate program offers degree completion through full time in-person classes on the Point Loma campus. The Accelerated Undergraduate program offers online and hybrid degree completion in as little as 15 months.
Do I need to apply to ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç before applying for the Beauty for Ashes Scholarship?
Yes, you must be accepted into ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç before applying to the Beauty for Ashes Scholarship.
When does the Beauty for Ashes Scholarship application process take place?
When scholarships are available, we accept applications once a year during the Spring (generally March). This application window is for the whole upcoming academic year (Fall, Spring, Summer).
Does the Beauty for Ashes Scholarship apply to Graduate Degrees?
The scholarship CANNOT be used for Graduate Programs. At this time, the Beauty for Ashes Scholarship is only available for people who are pursuing their first Bachelor's Degree.
Is being a full-time student a requirement to be eligible for the scholarship?
In the Traditional Undergraduate program, you must be enrolled full time (which is at least 12 units per semester). The Accelerated Undergraduate program can offer some flexibility, allowing for part-time or three-quarter-time attendance if necessary and pending approval. Please discuss these options with the Beauty for Ashes Program Director.
