M.A. in Writing Visiting Writers Series Launches with Eliza Jane Brazier

M.A. Visiting Writers Series Eliza Jane Brazier

The M.A. in Writing Program presents the Fall 2023 Visiting Writers Series beginning with novelist Eliza Jane Brazier on October 18.

This brand new fall Writer's Symposium by the Sea series features up-and-coming authors brought to ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç through the M.A. in Writing Program, which launched this past fall.

The Visiting Writers Series will start off with author, screenwriter, and journalist Eliza Jane Brazier. Eliza Jane Brazier has released three crime fiction/thriller novels in the past two years:  (2021),  (2022), and most recently (2023), which   named the "thriller of the summer."

Entering the horse world at the age of five, Brazier has worked as a rider, horse trainer, and riding instructor. She brings her horse world knowledge and experiences into her fictional worlds. In her most recent novel Girls and Their Horses, the nouveau riche Parker family moves to Rancho Santa Fe, where they enter into the competitive, cliquey circles of the showjumping world and discover its twisted secrets.

Brazier will visit ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç campus on Wednesday, October 18 to conduct a 3pm writing workshop and 7pm evening reading at Fermanian Conference Center.

The 3pm workshop will center on the work of M.A. in Writing students; all are welcome to observe the discussion for free.

The 7pm reading will feature Brazier's work and a book signing to follow courtesy of La Playa Books. Cost for the evening event is $10 general admission and $5 with the ¹ú²ú¾çÂ鶹¾ç discount.
