New York Times bestselling author Amor Towles will join Dean Nelson in a conversation on his new release Table for Two as part of a special event with Warwick鈥檚 and Writer鈥檚 Symposium by the Sea.
Towles is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Rules of Civility, A Gentleman in Moscow, and The Lincoln Highway. Collectively, these three novels have sold over six million copies and have been translated into more than 35 languages. The French translation of his debut novel Rules of Civility won the 2012 Prix Fitzgerald. His novel A Gentleman in Moscow was also recently adapted for television; the eight-episode series starring Ewan McGregor will debut on Paramount+ with Showtime on March 31, 2024.
Written with his signature wit, humor, and sophistication, Table for Two is another glittering addition to Towles鈥檚 canon of stylish and transporting fiction. The collection of stories includes some of his shorter fiction: six stories based on New York City and a novella set in Golden Age Hollywood. The New York stories, most of which take place around the year 2000, consider the fateful consequences that can spring from brief encounters and the delicate mechanics of compromise that operate at the heart of modern marriages.
said about the new release: 鈥淢ost of the narratives deal with fateful interactions between strangers or family members鈥ur lives can often change due to a conversation at a table for two.鈥
